About HWProbe

HWProbe is a free, privacy-first suite of browser-based hardware testing tools. It tests gamepads, keyboards, mice, monitors, microphones, and speakers — entirely in your browser using standard Web APIs.

How It Works

Every test runs 100% client-side. Your hardware data never leaves your device — there are no servers processing your inputs and no accounts required. The tools use native browser APIs like the Gamepad API, Web Audio API, MediaDevices API, and requestAnimationFrame to read hardware state in real time. Anonymous recommendation events may be used to measure affiliate CTR, but they never include hardware readings or personal identifiers.

Why We Built This

Most hardware testing tools require downloads, run intrusive system-level software, or collect data unnecessarily. We wanted a simple alternative: open a URL, test your hardware, get results. No installs, no sign-ups, no hardware data leaving your device.

Diagnostics Engine

HWProbe is powered by a shared diagnostics engine maintained in akasha-device-diagnostics. That keeps browser, host, and hybrid detection behavior aligned while the product itself stays focused on a clean end-user experience.

Who Maintains HWProbe

HWProbe is independently branded and maintained as a focused hardware diagnostics product. The product stays user-first: useful tests, clear repair paths, and recommendations only after the result calls for them.
