Frequently Asked Questions
Why does controller vibration not work in the browser? +
Browser haptics support depends on the Gamepad API, the controller, the connection mode, and the operating system. Chrome and Edge over USB are the safest baseline; Safari and Firefox may expose buttons but not vibration.
Does no vibration mean my controller is broken? +
Not by itself. No browser rumble can mean the browser or Bluetooth stack did not expose the vibration actuator. Confirm with USB, a supported browser, and a console or game before treating the motors as failed.
Can HWProbe test adaptive triggers? +
HWProbe can read normal trigger pressure when the browser exposes it, but adaptive trigger resistance is not available through the standard browser Gamepad API. Use this page for rumble and basic haptic exposure, not full console-only trigger effects.
